Steeples Deli

Went to Steeples Deli for lunch after much recommendation from my brother. Is located at Tanglin Shopping Centre(an almost forgotten part of Orchard Rd), just beside St Regis. Like the decor of the place alot. The place apparently had been there for a long long while and the friendly auntie had spent most of the life running the place. When you stepped in, it transmits the feeling of stepping into the filming set of Friends or Morgan Freeman having a sandwich while talking to his informer. An extremely cosy place to have a meal, especially brekkie, just coffee, sausages and newspapers. The food was alright though, not that is super worth it, neither does it makes me crave for it. Had the cheeseburger but brother say should try the fudge, which I will do so next time.

deathcab

Didn't have to work the other day but still I went to office at 9am. Thats earlier than usual and I am on time, for once. Just to buy the one night only tickets for Death Cab For Cutie. Is like they are finally coming to SG, no matter what you have to get it. Seriously, one of the bands to see before you die. When I logged onto the system, cat 1 seats were like almost taken up but after much 'refreshing', I managed to get really awesome seats. Bought the cat 3 seats for myself n them as I felt that is more worth the moolah. My colleagues thought I was crazy bygoing down all the way just to buy tickets, but I felt it was thoroughly worth the effort- for myself and my fellow fans. Now we hope Taking Back Sunday will come. It seems possible. But guess what, I cannot go for Mono already. Opportunity Cost.

Kept in a box

Why do we keep things we want to forget in a box,
hoping to see it again
Why don't we just throw it away,
never to see it again
Is it because we cannot destroy memories
Memories deeply entrenched in our minds
things in this world will be simpler if not for memories.

Give us back our break food!!

When SIM take away our 'break' food, do we just sit there and accept the decision? Does having more pushcarts benefit the students at all? No! It only benefits the vendors. I think is time they start to look at the students welfare first, for once. The school fees we pay is definitely enough to pay for the break food which works out to $1 per person, max. Complaining about not having free 'break' food is definitely not a display of spoilt brats(as opposed to LIANHE WANBAO). We were made to think we paid for it and now to suddenly take it away from us (without conducting polls to see the response of students) is disrespectful to us and we demand to be heard. A louder voice.

SRC has already expressed concerns regarding the issue and please express your reactions by casting your votes on www.simuolsrc.com.

Over, just for now

Right now is over, just temporary
Come sept, it will probably be worse
God knows, literally.
